Katy Perry's 'one of the boys' album cover uses a combination of bright and dull colours as the foreground is bright and girly using a lot of red where as the background is dull and cloudy this gives the area around katy perry a more mistical feeling and helps to draw more attention on her. The girly feeling is hightened with the use of props, all the props used are pink this creates the girly feel, then the use of a lot of flowers and a bright green grass creates the mistical feel as these are asoseated with a medow or field in which you would find mistical beings such as a fairy. the use of pink suggests this album is aimed at girls, also because its a pail pink this would suggest its aimed at younger girls. however because of how Katy Perry is dressed this album cover would also attracted the attension of a male audience as well.

i have also chosen to analyse Kesha's album 'Tik Tok'. on this album cover it is a close up of her face, in this image she looks like shes on a night out as the background is dark and she is blowing glitter at the camera. this album cover isn't as girly as Katy Perry's as there is very little colour, however with the use of glitter and, by making it look like she is on a night out in the image, it is still appealing to a female audience. the way the title and her name are written on the album cover is very scruffy, this helps to inform the audience of the style of music that Kesha produces, i feel that the image and the picture fit really well together as they both show the same style, and i feel this is a very important facter when creating the ablum cover that the cover helps to show the audince what style of music the artist produce.
